I purchased the stand back in January while there was still a long wait time. I received my order back in March but I had just ruptured my bicep and have been in various surgeries and rehab so I’m just getting able to assemble… with a little assistance!
I love the stand. Great quality and overbuilt. It is pricey and I won’t pretend I “needed” it or anything this overbuilt, but I wanted it and I’m a big supporter of our home gym small shops like Oak Club, JD Gym, and Darko. That said, this specific transaction wasn’t what I hoped for at the price point. I am missing some hardware (just placed an Amazon order for both flat and lock washers) while having a few extra of others. Assembly is easy to figure out (no instructions) but I can see why some people had to take a couple attempts since there are pieces that need to be oriented in a specific way and you have some angle choices, so some limited directions would be a nice touch even if just online. I don’t like the fractional plate holders. Don’t like them at all. They either go on the outside where they take up room or on the inside where they are in the way of your legs. I’d like to see them front or rear mount. Also, I was shipped the “tube” variant which requires a deep socket or long extension since there isn’t a slot for a wrench unless you reverse the both direction (which would make it not match all the others).
The final thing that kept this from being a 5 star is that right after placing my order, I emailed to request a color change (to match a new rack I ordered). The return email said due to the extreme number of emails, they’ve reviewed but won’t respond until closer to the time my order would be starting, and not to keep resending. Many weeks later, my order shipped without ever reaching out for the color change.
Honestly, I’d buy it again and just hope this was a one-time thing during a busy time, and hope that normal interactions are as good as I’ve come to expect from the other companies I’ve mentioned. At the end of the day, $7XX is a lot so I think it is fair to expect a lot in return.
