These low profile spotters are some of the best I’ve seen, and obviously much more refined from Dean’s original design. Welds are super clean and UHMW protection to protect rack and barbell are standard. These also come in at some of the lowest cost spotters compared to other competitors, although clearly not cheap. Dean does a great job communicating and got these earlier than expected (about 7-8 weeks). Shipping was good, I did have a couple of minor scuffs but nothing I was upset about. I opted for clear grind and love the look against my blue rack. Dean includes two hitch pins that are well done and work nicely. These are front load, so you do have to have either a hitch or magpin to secure the spotter arm fully. The spotters are robust while being light enough that they are easy to maneuver single handed (mine are 18” length and they weigh about 14lbs each). Would not hesitate to buy from Black Widow in the future and I’m sure I will be doing so!
Amazing craftsmanship
I ordered the 18” spotters so I could do weighted dips with my Rhino trainer and they work perfectly. As spotters they are perhaps the best looking ones I have seen, and I was blown away with their quality and beefiness. Almost seemed a shame to use them instead of simply admiring them. Get these, you’ll be glad you did!
Thus spotter arm is simple but perfect. Flawlessly fits on the rack, so slim I can use at the bottom of my rack for rack pulls. It is flawless. Simple and perfect for home gyms with limited space. American made. Hands down the best spotter arm there is.
