Received a custom set of swing in safeties from BWTG. Set has full UHMW coverage as well as an additional pin included to lock the safeties in place when in use to prevent them from swinging. One of many custom pieces I bought from Black Widow and they never disappoint, always the highest quality.
Received my swing in safety bars and they are awesome! Build quality is great and they fit my rack perfectly.
I use these on a rogue 490c power rack. Excellent fit and function.
The safeties for my Rogue ML were not up to snuff with BWTG Instagram teasers. Despite providing precise measurements to BWTG, there's a lot of space between the safeties/rack at the end w/ the long post. Also, some of the welds are incomplete & of questionable quality. Hopefully, these issues do not compromise safety.
Another issue is the UHMW (which costs extra). On both safeties, the screws used to attach it are at seemingly random points. They are neither equidistant from each other nor are they centered. On one, the UHMW is so crooked that itâs partially hanging off & there are a plethora of shavings jutting from underneath. There are also burr marks (?) on both the UHMW & the steel. All of this is purely cosmetic, but considering the huge price premium on the safeties, I expected far better QC.
Overall, I'm disappointed. The safeties are ok, but far, far below my expectations. I may give BTWG another chance down the road, but at this point I'm not sure.
I use these for bottom squats and bottom benches. They are very sturdy. Bar rolls easily across the length of the safeties, meaning I can get out from under the weight quickly when doing bottom benches. They move in and out of position very quickly. I should have gotten a pair sooner!
